Day 21: No Rest For The Wicked
Today, I made up for yesterday's missed workout. I didn't feel like working out today but I missed yesterday so I told myself I need to. With that, I feel like I didn't do as well as I could have, but I didn't do too bad. I did like a ten hour shift. And boy, did I make those hours worth it - I used it to do some walking with intervals of brisk walking, making that a workout in itself.
I also ate better today. If I didn't stay longer at work, I'm sure I would've gotten my eating on schedule today. I've been spacing out my meals and snacks so I am going like three, four hours between them. And I felt the hunger when I missed my afternoon snack at 3 lol.
And today, I also utilized my heart rate monitor. I had to watch a youtube video to see how to use my heart rate monitor lol. The manual that came with it was just ridiculous to use. If you need to know how to use your Timex heart rate monitor, I suggest checking out the video below. I didn't believe the number of calories it says I burned during today's workout, so I tried one of those calculators to see what that said. And from the two numbers, I just too the average. I'm underestimating the number of calories I've burned today cause I'd rather underestimate than over estimate and not get my numbers.
Tomorrow is Combat 60! I have to say, that today's workout felt like it went by fairly quickly, surprisingly. Maybe it's cause after Combat 60, those 30 minutes do go by. Or maybe, I'm getting better. Or maybe both.
I also forgot to mention an observation from my first day of Combat 60 and my second day. I usually do my Combat workouts that require gloves with my weighted Turbo Jam gloves. So I knew I was tired on that second day of Combat so I went without the gloves so I could still give it my best effort. And I have to say, I think those gloves are great for my arms; I underestimate my "power" (I don't feel like I have enough power to be considered power). When I have the gloves, it feels like I'm not punching fast enough or hard enough. Without them, I can feel my speed. It's awesome!
Can't wait for tomorrow. It's the start of week 4 of my challenge! Dreading it, but can't wait! I might just use those weighted gloves again. Well depending on work lol.
