Day 18: Switched It Up
Today I switched it up. Today was a rest day but I missed yesterday so I did it today. And I also did my workout in the morning rather than at night. Today's work schedule got switched - instead of an am shift, I'm working a closing shift so I thought better to get it over with in the morning since I was up already. I also know, I will be super tired after work since a closing shift is usually past my bed time lol. And I'll want my sleep cause tomorrow is the dreaded Combat 60. I'm looking forward to it; repetition is the key. The more I do it and see it, the better I can do and be. At least I hope - I still kinda suck at Combat 30 in some of those intervals. I need to really work on my left side during those kata segments and in general.
I got some breakfast in today! And it wasn't McDonald's iced coffee and hash brown! That's an accomplishment in itself since that's all I seem to have time for in the morning on my way to work. I did a smoothie - it was one of those strawberry, banana and orange Yoplait smoothies. I added some protein powder to it and made it with unsweetened almond milk. It was delish and fast to make! I don't know if it'll jive with some of the stuff I've been reading and wanting to eliminate from my diet since I didn't get to read the label. I'm going to try and shop based on the things I've been reading and the nutrition guide that came with my Combat package.
I really really really have to work on my nutrition. I hope that once I get better at that, I can get better with my anemia. I know this morning I was feeling it today. Thank goodness I got that lightheaded feeling after the workout. Sometimes, I get that feeling during some of the other workouts, especially doing burpees. During that interval, I just take it slow and do as many as I can do. And I take a breather if I have to so I can keep going. I don't know if that's all too good for me, but I want this and I want to try and finish this challenge as true to it as I can.
This morning, I did something I dread and that was take a weight measurement. And I found that after like a week or so, I'm down a pound. It's not as much as I was hoping for, but I'll take it. It's one less pound on me :) I'm waiting for the end of my Beachbody Challenge to do measurements on the body. I can see that I look like I have less back fat and my arms looks thinner than before, so I'm so hopeful for those measurements.
