Starting My Fitness Journey.... Sorta
Well I'm now on blogger to document my ups and downs I have with my weight, my health and myself. I do have another blog that I've been on and have been writing on for a while now, but I thought I'd do one on here to make it easier to update.
So to start off, I thought I'd say a bit about myself. I'm Dani. I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. I've been up, I've been down, up, down, up and down. It's just a vicious cycle I'd like to stop. Not just for vanity reasons, but for health reasons. My family has a history of health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart problems to name a few. So I want to change how I'm going about living my life. I want to make these changes before I turn 30, which means I have about a year and a half or so to accomplish my goals.
At the start of this year, a few of my co-workers and I took it upon ourselves to have a little weight loss challenge. And when we started, I was gung ho; I wanted to beat all of them and I started off really well, losing a few pounds a week in the first month, but then I fell off the wagon. I worked too much and was so tired to workout. I have a job where I'm on my feet, walking around, sometimes it feels like racing around, for around 8 hours. And, being the workaholic I am, I worked overtime, so what was 8 hour days, would turn into almost 12, 13 hour days, depending. And I can't say that was too bad, because while I was too tired to workout, I think all that working, has helped me lose about 16 pounds since I started the weight loss challenge at the beginning of the year. I can't help but wonder how far along I'd be if I worked out on top of working. I'd probably would have reached my goal by now and then some. I have another 15, 10 pounds to go before I reach my goal and I have till the end of May to reach it. So from here on out, I'm going to try to workout according to the workout schedule and I'm also going to try to be more mindful about what I eat.
I'm starting a new workout routine, which I am super psyched about. I'm still getting over a cough that is staying with me after I caught a nasty cold so I know it'll be difficult and I know I'll be dying through out the workouts, but in a good way. Doing the basics has me pumped for the workouts. I do have to get my kicks better. My front kick needs work since I need to remember to flex my foot for the kick. Also my back kick form needs work since my form now has me doing like a backward side kick. My jump knee also really sucks but its fun to do. Actually anything with knees is fun cause it makes me feel like a bad ass.
I'll try and do myfitnesspal journal thing as best I can, but sometimes I can't find what I'm eating in the app so it makes it hard at times. If you want to follow me on there I'm DaniJ715, which is also my twitter name. I'm a tweeter more than I am a facebooker since my twitter is tied to my FB. I'll try and update this blog often and let you all know how I'm doing, tips I've found that work for me, and other things. Let me know what you're up to and what works for you.
