Trying To Be An Alpha!
So lately, I've been hitting the gym. I've gone every day - even when I lack the energy. I know that I need to keep going to keep my gym momentum going! What can I say? I am so inspired by all these people in the BPI challenge. I wish I was better through out the challenge but I have to say this challenge helped as a starting point as I've said before.
I'm also slowly working my way through my free weights anxiety in the gym lol. I read this article on being an Alpha Girl in the gym and I'm trying to incorporate the tips and attitude in the gym.I have to say I am guilty of being on my phone, but it's cause I'm on the BodySpace app tracking my workout. So that's okay, right? It gives me my plan I need and guidance I so need! Otherwise, I'd wander around aimlessly from machine to machine, not sure what to do, like I did before. Now I just need to have the confidence lol.And I also realize I need lifting gloves; my hands are getting callused and rough lol.
And since I've been reading more stuff to help my workouts and health, I did read another article on bodybuilding.com that gives tips on for transformation. And while I found all the tips helpful, the most helpful ones were number 1) "Respect Recovery," and number 10) "Tell Yourself You Can Do It."
Telling myself I can do it has to be my motto to get to my overall goal. I know it's a slow process; it took me over a year to get to where I am now. And I don't care how long it'll take to get to my goal; I know I will get there if I just keep on.
As for respecting my recovery, it stems from feeling guilty for missing a day or not going hard on an active rest day. And I know better now. I've been learning that now that I'm actually getting more than four hours of sleep a night. And when I actually do take a day off, I feel more refreshed and ready to go the next round at the gym.
So tomorrow's the 4th! And in preparation for it, I switched my routines around. I did my chest, shoulders and triceps today so tomorrow will be a cardio day! It'll be a nice easier day to start my 4th of July weekend. I'll also take this weekend to relax for a day. I'll use this weekend to be better with my diet too; I don't want to get carried away with food and regret it later. I especially don't want to do that since I have to take my post challenge pics!
