DietBetter
So I don't know if I've said this before (but I'm pretty sure I have), I love Extreme Weight Loss! And I love Chris and Heidi Powell! I swear, it's like every episode, I cry and it's fantastic! I'm just so inspired by the transformations people can make in a year. And seeing what they can do in a year makes my goal just seem attainable and not so daunting. Anyways, I follow Chris and Heidi on Facebook and saw that they were hosting a DietBet game. Now, I had never heard of this until then so I checked it out. And now I'm in!
What it is is a place where you put money into the pot (in this case, it was $30), and you lose a specific amount. For this game, since it's only 28 days long, it will be 4% of your body weight. So I'm at/around 120 and 4% of that is 4.8, but I'm rounding up to 5 pounds. And there are quite a few people playing so you're going through this journey with others in the same boat as you, all trying to lose weight. And it's on you to make the change happen so you're betting against yourself to reach your goal. The money is just extra motivation and an extra push. I'm already on this journey, so why not try to make some money from it?
I'm still doing my Lee Labrada program from the bodybuilding website. That's going alright. I wobbled a bit the last week; my birthday celebrations really threw me off my routine and I'm finally getting somewhat back into it. This DietBet is really helping with that, getting me back on track. I'm still doing my C25K training.
The big thing for me, has been diet. And it still is my diet. I know I need to eat better, more nutritional choices than the empty calories I have been eating in the past. It's hard, being a lover of food and counting calories from all that. But I'm starting to not care about calories so much. I care when I'm like a couple thousand over my daily goal, but not stressing like 200 calories since I know I'm putting in the work. I know what to eat and what not to eat since I know what's better for me. I might crave certain foods and love the idea of it, but when I have a bit of my craving, I'm satisfied. And afterwards, the craving seems to fade.
I like where I'm heading, especially looking back on where I've been. I can't wait for this next 28 days!
