Respecting My Recovery

I'm actually taking a true rest day! Meaning there was no work or gym. I spent my day at home, relaxing and just doing my prep for the week. I do feel a hint of guilt not doing anything, but then I'm trying to be mindful of my body and it's needs. I haven't done a real rest day in weeks. I'm either working, spending time at the gym or both. It's so weird to just lounge, but at the same time, it's fantastic!

So today, while out of the gym, I'm trying to not get crazy with my food intake on the weekends cause that's a habit I'm trying to break.I'm keeping in mind, my macronutrients. Not to the point where I'm obsessive; I'm just more cognizant of how much carbs I'm taking in and how much more protein I need. And with that in mind and preparing for my week, I've been thinking about my food and other supplements I need to help my diet.

Tomorrow is Day 28 of Lee Labrada's 12 Week program. So far, I'm liking it. I feel so awesome since I'm actually tracking my progress; I'm using my app to track what my last workout stats were so it gives me added motivation to lift. I find that I have been able to lift more and I love it; I feel like a beast and strong lol. I'm not lifting mad heavy weights like 50 pound bicep curls, they [the weights] are just heavier than they were the last session and the session before that.

My running has also been getting better. I'm a day behind but that's nothing an added training sesh won't solve during my cardio days. I have till November to get ready for the 5K so I can't dawdle on the training, especially since I'm not a runner lol.

I think the more into this round of my fitness journey, I've been using it to show food, my progress and other little things lol.
