It's Time For Focus
It's week one of Shaun T's Focus T25!!! While I still love Les Mills Combat - like LOVE since it's the program I actually completed and didn't get discouraged and I actually lost weight on - I wanted a change to see how I'd like something else. Plus, there's something appealing about the idea of being able to get an effective workout in in 25 minutes a day. Plus, it's Shaun T - I love him.
For those of you that don't know about Focus T25, it's Shaun T's new workout. It's a 10 week program consisting of 5 weeks in each phase - an alpha and a beta. Alpha focuses on your foundation while Beat focuses on your core. Here's a clip of what you can expect.
Below are some pics of what comes in the workout package aside from the DVDs. Focus T25 also comes with a resistance band and a wall calendar not featured in the picture below. There are 11 workouts that come with the basic package. I missed out on getting Core speed since I didn't order it through my coach. There's also a Gamma Cycle once you've completed beta that one can order. I don't know how that one is since I haven't seen it yet, but since it's Shaun T, I bet that's insane lol.
The workouts are 25 minutes a day for five days. Fridays you double up the workouts. And Sundays are your stretch days :) Don't worry if you can't double up on Friday, you can do that on Saturday or Sunday or when ever you can get it in during the week. Saturdays are STATurdays since that's when you do your measurements.
I'm trying to do the 5 day fast that has me down to 1100 calories a day for the first week. So far it's okay. I get really hungry in the beginning part of the day, especially when I'm at work, surrounded by delicious foods that I shouldn't eat. I did cheat a bit, since it's been my birthday. I might just restart the fast track diet another week if I get so out of whack with my eating this week and next. And since I'm still taking some boxing/kickboxing classes, trying to incorporate all the workouts into my days is a bit of a struggle right now. This past week, all I've done is T25 to see how I feel with the lower calories.
I'm thinking of bringing my DVDs with me when I'm on vacation this weekend. I just want to get my first week under my belt even if my eating might (it probably will) be out of whack. I'll try and post my measurements some time this week before I leave hopefully so I can have some start numbers. From some of the girls in the Facebook groups I'm in, they're getting really great results so I can't wait to see how this goes for me. I'm trying to get down another 10, 15 pounds by October for my friend's wedding so that's my next goal and deadline.
