Beginning Again...Sorta
So lately, I've been MIA. Life has gotten in the way. I'm not as bad as I was before; I still get a workout in, only now I feel like I lack some of the intensity I had and the frequency as well. I still get to the gym; I do some classes, like hot yoga and the occasional Pump, Combat, and Zumba when I can fit them in. But other than that, I usually just go and do my running. I'm still trying that C25K and it's been going well-ish. I can run faster for my intervals when I'm focusing on pace and I can run a bit longer when I'm focusing on endurance. I don't do anything else when I'm there cause I feel awkward and self conscious to do anything else. I know I need to change this! Especially after last night!
Last night, I went to a friend's competition. She competed in her first fitness competition; she was in the IFBB Felicia Romero Figure Classic and the NPC Western Regional. And I have to say, being around all that and seeing how she looked and how she was dedicated, as well as everyone else there, was really inspiring. So I'm looking to start another program. I'm thinking I'll start with Brazilian Butt Lift, since it's almost time for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and Alessandra is in it :) But on top of that, I'm going to add in some weight training, more than what is in BBL.
To find a weight training routine, I'm back on BodyBuilding to help find a routine. I'm thinking my routine will be Jamie Eason's LiveFit. It seems easy to follow and can fit in my hectic schedule. It was that or Lee Labrada's 12 Week Lean Body program. My only concern with that is that I might not make it to the gym on the days I need since school and work take up the majority of my week days, especially Mondays. Maybe, once school is done and after LiveFit, I can try that program out. I think following the program will go smoother thanks to BodySpace, a page on BodyBuilding.com as well as an app, I can do the workout. I already know I'll have to modify plan for what days I'm on, just to accommodate my work/school schedule. I'll still do my cardio, even though it's not in Phase 1, but I want to get my C25K goal down. I figure, I'll just do it after lifting or on a rest day.
I also need to get my nutrition down. I like one of the girls on that BodyBuilding site, Kathleen Tesori. Her video about her take on her workout, nutrition and all that seemed reasonable and sensible. And even when you're super busy and tired and have limited time, like 15 minutes, she says just do your 15 cause it keeps you on a routine, which I need. And to take things slow, like with eating, just eliminate one bad habit a time.
